Amendments to PPE regulations at work from 6 April 2022

On 6th April 2022, the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at Work Regulations came into force, amending the previous 1992 Regulations.
Previously, employers had a legal obligation to provide PPE to employees under a contract of employment, but this amendment extends their obligation to also cover individuals that have a more casual employment relationship and work under a contract for service.
